“ One of my top restaurants for brunch in Manhattan Beach, this place is a little on the pricey side, but you can't beat the food or the views. Here's everything you need to know: Views. If you want to a great view of the ocean inside or outside on one of the patios, this is the place. It sits less than a block from the pier/beach and is perfect for people watching. Parking. There's no dedicated lot but there is a metered lot just west of the property. This lot fills quickly so plan on looking for metered street parking or parking in the subterranean lot underneath Shade three blocks east and one block north. Food. Excellent. Everything is just a level above, from the French press coffee to the ketchup (I'm not kidding!). The portions are decent sized and while the menu isn't huge, there's certainly something for everyone. The smoked salmon benedict (salmon is cold smoked in-house) is my go-to, but we also love the ceviche, breakfast burrito and crab cakes. Service. Always excellent. Your glasses will never be empty. Reservations. Make one on Opentable. And if you want a seat on the patio, be sure to make your reservation as soon as they open at 10am. ”

We had the margarita pizza and the ahi tuna salad both were wonderful. Top it off with the Argentina Malbec and we were in beach heaven. Easy street parking ”

“ Savor, sip, and soak in the scenery! If you want to impress your out of town guests or your dinner date, this is the place to take them. The Strand House is on the corner of Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Ocean Drive, close to the pier. Parking in the area is mostly metered. Plan on arriving a little earlier in case there is traffic. We were seated in the main dining room upstairs. Make sure to secure reservations around sunset because the Pacific Ocean views are I M M A C U L A T E. Onto the food... Parker House Roll - Presentation is cute, it comes in a little wooden box. Each one tasted like it was fresh out of the oven. Perfectly flaky and buttery, with the right amount of saltiness. The accompanying whipped cream butter adds a slight sweetness to it. Caesar Salad - Crunchy Sweet Gem lettuce, crispy sourdough wafer, and cheesy parmesan. Simple and refreshing. Ora King Salmon - Delicate and silky, it just melts in your mouth. The consistency is that soft! It's bathe in a tomato pepper broth and topped with ingredients like mango jicama slaw and cilantro for extra textures and flavors. 40 oz Prime Tomahawk Steak for two - Requires about 40 minutes for preparation. Medium rare is recommended. The outer pieces were phenomenal; the ones toward the middle were more rare and basically raw in some parts. Not cooked evenly, though still delicious for the most part. Pricey but praiseworthy! Fairly easy to get a reservation, except for the holidays. I looked at their calendar today, Mother's Day and Memorial Day are all booked and it's only March. “ Went on a Saturday at 5 in time for sunset. We had a very nice view. We got the shrimp appetizer, truffle pizza appetizer, short rib and dorade. The shrimp was good but nothing unique. The truffle pizza was yummy with loooooots of cheese but very heavy and very big portion! We almost got too full from it. The dorade was nicely cooked with a flavorful purée. The rib was yummy too. We got donuts for dessert and having all different flavors was kind of cool but also they were just donuts... The place is a bit tight. Like the tables are so close to each other that you can hear their conversation. Service was good. Our waitress was nice and friendly. For some reason, it took forever for our appetizers to come out so we kind of got worried that they were going to come out with our main dish but it ended up being fine. ”
